Your Role
An exciting opportunity exists to join the team atShalom College, Bundaberg, in the position ofLibrary Manager.
This is a full-time continuing role for 38 hours per week to commence as soon as possible or as negotiated with the successful applicant.
Typical duties include:
Operate and be responsible for the library at the College, ensuring the delivery of services to the school community, including the supervision, monitoring and development of library staff.
Develop the Library as a resource centre that support learning across all areas of the school curriculum
Establish and maintain a welcoming atmosphere within the library that encourages effective learning and teaching opportunities for students and staff
Create opportunities and policies that enhance digital, print and information literacy within the school
Provide training to students,



staff and the school community in the development of information literacy, reference and reading skills
Consult with staff and leadership staff to develop and maintain a print, audio-visual and electronic collection that effectively meets the needs of the school curriculum
Manage and administer the library budget in line with purchasing guidelines

About You
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals who are passionate about education and working with students.
The Successful Applicant Will Have
understanding of and a commitment to the values of a Catholic school
strong communication and interpersonal skills
experience in library services, information management, collection development and resource provision
knowledge of contemporary library practices, information literacy frameworks and digital learning resources
organisational, administrative and budget management skills
the ability to work well either individually or collaboratively in a team and to accept direction and support
adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic educational setting
a commitment to supporting student learning outcomes
Tertiary qualifications at either a Bachelor or Associate Diploma/Diploma level or equivalent knowledge,



qualifications and experience relevant to the position would be advantageous.
Membership with Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) would be desirable.
