Responsibilities
Application Discovery & AnalysisCollaborate with business stakeholders to gather application requirements, dependencies, and licensing triggers prior to packaging.
End-to-End PackagingDesign and create high-quality deployment packages usingIntune.
Advanced Scripting & AutomationUsePowerShell App Deployment Toolkit (PSADT)to handle complex installation logic, user notifications, and setting clean-ups.
Quality Assurance & TestingConduct rigorous UAT in clean-room VM environments to ensure packages do not interfere with the base SOE or other installed applications.
Compliance & Security HardeningEnsure packages comply withASD Essential Eight(specifically Application Control/Whitelisting) andISM standards, including no requirement for administrative privileges for end users.
Intune & MECM OrchestrationManage upload, targeting, and monitoring of application deployments viaMicrosoft IntuneandSCCM/MECM.
Requirements
Core ToolsExperience inMicrosoft Intune,Admin Studio,Advanced Installer, orMaster Packager.
Packaging FormatsStrong knowledge ofMSI tables (Orca),MST (Transforms), andMSIX.




ScriptingAdvancedPowerShellskills for automation and wrapper development.
TroubleshootingExpert use ofSysinternals (ProcMon, Process Explorer)andEvent Viewerto diagnose application issues and registry conflicts.
Security & WhitelistingExperience withAppLockerorWindows Defender Application Control (WDAC).
Developer Tool PackagingProven experience packaging complex developer tools and enterprise applications.
Qualifications
Security Clearance:NV1 clearance is mandatory (public sector requirement).
