Two (x2) full time Fixed term for 3 years at Camperdown CampusWork with leading researchers and industry partners in wireless communicationsBase Salary HEO 7 $117,133 - $127,610 or HEO 8 from $131,108 to $147,858 + 17% superannuationAbout the opportunityWe are seeking to appoint two Radio Frequency (RF) Engineers to join the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE)at the University of Sydney.
In this role, you will work closely with industry partners to design and develop WiFi RF circuits, contributing to cutting-edge advancements in wireless communications.The Telecommunication research area within the School of ECE has an established international reputation in wireless communications and signal processing, comprising five IEEE Fellows, several research fellows, and more than 50 postgraduate students.
The University of Sydney is ranked 13th globally in Telecommunications in the recent Shanghai subject rankings, providing a highly team-oriented and innovative research environment.Your key responsibilities will be to:design and develop RF and analogue integrated circuit blocks such as power amplifiers, LNAs, and front-end modulesperform schematic design, simulation, and optimisation at transistor level using industry-standard EDA toolsconduct post-layout verification and support tape-out activitiesparticipate in measurement and characterisation of fabricated ICs, including on-wafer testingcontribute to practical IC design methodologies and workflow developmentcollaborate with internal research teams and external industry partners to deliver project outcomesmanage competing deadlines and contribute to multiple concurrent projectorAbout youpostgraduate qualification in electrical engineering, microelectronics, or a related field,



or an equivalent combination of training and experienceproven experience in RF or analogue IC designstrong understanding of transistor-level circuit design and RF fundamentalsexperience with circuit simulation tools such as Cadence, ADS, or similarfamiliarity with CMOS or BiCMOS technologiesability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative teamstrong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing prioritiesexcellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skillsPreferred experience includes:experience in power amplifier, LNA, or RF front-end designexposure to RF measurement techniques such as load-pull and S-parameter characterisationexperience with IC layout and awareness of parasitic effectsprior tape-out or silicon validation experienceexperience working with industry partners or within an IC design environmentAppointment will be made at either HEO 7 or HEO 8 classification level depending on the candidate's profile and experience.Work RightsYou must have appropriate work rights in Australia for the duration of this employment to apply.
