Position Descriptor
This position requires a highly creative, reflective and experienced Special Options teacher to work collaboratively within a supportive team environment in a large, complex secondary school.
The Successful Applicant Will
Have experience teaching students with intellectual disabilities in a Special Options class or disability unit.
Demonstrate the ability to design and deliver highly differentiated, functional learning programs that promote independence, communication and participation.
Have experience planning and facilitating authentic community-based learning opportunities that support students to generalise skills across a range of settings.
Experience delivering Modified SACE programs would be highly regarded.




Provide an example of when you have actively created working relationships that have resulted in you connecting with your colleagues, sharing practices, and learning from one another to support your learners to thrive.
Explain a time where you have empowered your learners, giving them agency to shape a learning experience.
What was the outcome?
Describe a time where evaluation of your teaching has led to a change in your teaching practice?
