About EVT
At EVT we believe in changing the game. Why? Because no one wants ordinary. If you're seeking to be part of the kind of wow-factor moments you can help shape, then you've come to the right place.
As market-leading experience creators, we bring to life some of the best-known brands and properties in entertainment, ventures, and travel. Our portfolio includes over 140 entertainment experiences like Event Cinemas and Moonlight Cinemas, 150 award-winning restaurants and bars, and 80+ hotels, including QT, Rydges, Atura, LyLo, and Thredbo. Our ventures include a ~$2.3B property portfolio and hotel management, just to name a few.
The role
The payroll specialist delivers high-quality, accurate payroll support across our Australian and New Zealand business. This role is hands‐on, transactional, and detail-driven: perfect for someone who takes pride in getting the details right, owns their responsibilities, and contributes to a seamless payroll experience across two countries.
Your primary focus will be on Australian payroll tasks, such as employee movements, queries, terminations, and reporting. You'll also be cross‐trained to step in and support NZ payroll during high-volume periods, leave coverage, or system updates. You'll be part of a collaborative, fast-paced team based in Sydney CBD, working in a hybrid arrangement, where agility, accuracy, and accountability matter.
Key responsibilities
Process and maintain accurate payroll records in Dayforce for Australian employees.

Action employee movements including cross-boarding, transfers, and rehires via the recruitment portal.
Process termination calculations and final pays in line with Fair Work and NES compliance.
Generate regular payroll reports and check outputs for accuracy before submission or distribution.
Respond to employee and manager payroll queries professionally and within agreed timeframes.
Complete assigned pre-payroll audits, validating data ahead of each pay run.
Assist with NZ payroll tasks when required, including employee updates, audits, terminations, and IRD reporting under direction of the NZ specialist.
Process NZ payroll at busy times and for leave coverage.
Support the accuracy of system data integrations, for example from recruitment to payroll or WFM to payroll.
Follow all established payroll procedures and checklists, contributing to compliance and audit readiness.
Report any errors, gaps, or risks to the Payroll Manager or relevant specialists immediately.
Adhere to all cyber security, privacy, and data handling protocols to protect employee information.
What you'll bring
2-4 years of experience in payroll, with experience in Australian payroll.
Sound knowledge of Australian legislation: Fair Work, NES,

PAYG, superannuation, STP.
Exposure to New Zealand payroll is ideal but not essential: training will be provided.
Familiarity with payroll systems (Dayforce preferred) and use of HRIS or recruitment platforms.
Intermediate Excel skills, for example VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and reconciliations.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
Excellent attention to detail, especially with repetitive data tasks.
Solid written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated agility and flexibility to support multiple streams of payroll when required.
How you work
Owner's mindset: takes responsibility for assigned payroll tasks from start to finish, and follows through on resolution.
Detail-oriented and compliance-focused: carefully checks every entry, report, and transaction for accuracy.
Resilient and solutions-focused: maintains quality under pressure and adapts to changing deadlines or team needs.
Growth mindset: actively seeks to improve knowledge of both AU and NZ payroll systems and rules.
Perks from day one
As part of EVT, you unlock Elevate Perks from your first day. Parity for all levels: no ivory towers.
50% off dining and stays across EVT hotels: QT, Rydges, Atura, LyLo and more.
$2 movie tickets, plus discounts on Gold Class, Moonlight Cinema and Candy Bar.
Seasonal perks at Thredbo.
Rapid career growth across our hotel and entertainment network.
Paid parental leave, community and volunteering opportunities.
