The Opportunity
You will join a small, highly collaborative squad consisting of 4-5 developers, acting as the sole Quality Engineer within the team.
This is an individual contributor role with QE Lead-level seniority, focused on driving quality across a backend services ecosystem that integrates with multiple systems including BFF layers, payment platforms, and enterprise backend services.
This is not a Selenium or UI testing role.
We are looking for someone with deep API testing expertise and strong Java automation capabilities.
What You'll Be Doing
Design, build, and maintain API automation frameworks using Java and REST Assured
Perform hands-on API testing across complex backend integrations
Execute manual API testing using Postman when required
Build automation solutions from scratch where no framework currently exists
Extend and improve existing automation frameworks and test coverage
Drive an automation-first approach across the squad
Collaborate closely with developers, architects, product teams, and stakeholders
Identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and delivery outcomes
Manage test data and environment requirements proactively
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across Quality Engineering practices




Mandatory Skills & Experience
Strong experience in API Testing (manual and automation)
Advanced Java programming skills
Proven expertise with REST Assured
Strong experience with Postman
Experience building automation frameworks from scratch
Ability to enhance and maintain existing automation frameworks
Strong understanding of modern software delivery practices and Agile environments
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Self-driven and capable of working independently within a squad workplace
Highly Desirable
Experience within Payments, Banking, or Financial Services domains
Experience using GitHub Copilot or AI-assisted engineering tools
Exposure to complex enterprise integration environments
Passion for driving automation and engineering excellence
