About The Role
As part of our Wastewater Operations team, you will play a key role in supporting the planning, coordination, and delivery of wastewater maintenance, operational, and capital works programs.
Working closely with internal stakeholders, contractors, and Finance Business Partners, you will help ensure projects and work programs are delivered efficiently, while contributing to financial analysis, reporting, asset data management, and long‐term asset planning.
You will also assist with the development of project briefs, operational reporting,
and the review of technical information to support informed decision‐making and successful project outcomes.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys analysing data, improving processes, and finding practical solutions that deliver value for customers and stakeholders.
You will contribute to business improvement initiatives, coordinate the preparation of asset information for capitalisation, and support continuous improvement across wastewater operations.
A strong focus on safety, accountability, collaboration, and service delivery is essential, as you help drive positive outcomes aligned with Council's Corporate Plan and commitment to ensuring Everyone Goes Home Safe Today.
About You
Demonstrated experience role modelling a positive safety culture and adherence to the Health Safety Management Systems through visible leadership and exercising due diligence and management of compliance and legislative obligations.
Tertiary qualifications in Business or Frontline Management, or similar competency.
5+ years' experience in a similar position that includes demonstrated experience in an operational support role for a multi-disciplinary team.
High level of proficiency in the Microsoft suite of products, including, MS Visio and PDF Writer etc.
Extensive experience with Council products and systems including but not limited to, ECM CiAnywhere, CES/Townsville Maps/Guardian IMS/Property and Rating (desirable)
Ability to examine business processes and identify areas where improvements and efficiencies can be gained both operationally and financially.
Strong communication skills.
Demonstrated excellent customer service skills (internal and external customers).
Ability to work independently and as part of a multi‐disciplinary team and must be versatile and responsive to change with the ability to prioritise and manage time effectively.
Demonstrated effective analytical, problem solving and investigation skills with the ability to develop new techniques and methodologies which take advantage of technologies.
Current "C" Class Drivers Licence.
