About the Role:
Shape the future of workforce design at Northern Health
Northern Health is seeking an experienced and strategic Organisational Architect to lead the design, governance and evolution of our organisational structures, workforce architecture and classification frameworks.
This newly created role presents a unique opportunity to influence how one of Victoria's fastest-growing health services plans, structures and develops its workforce to meet future service demands. Working at an enterprise level, you will help shape organisational effectiveness, support strategic transformation and ensure workforce structures remain sustainable, contemporary and fit for purpose.
Reporting to the Director Human Resources and Talent Acquisition, you will be Northern Health's expert in organisational design, workforce architecture, role design, classification frameworks and workforce planning.




You will partner closely with Executive and senior leaders to design workforce solutions that support growth, innovation and excellent patient care, while ensuring consistency and integrity across organisational structures and workforce models.
About You:
You are a strategic thinker who enjoys solving complex organisational challenges and influencing decisions that have organisation-wide impact.
You will bring:
A tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, Organisational Development, Workforce Planning or a related discipline.
5 to 8 years' experience in organisational design, workforce planning, organisational development, workforce strategy or a related field.
Demonstrated experience designing and implementing organisational structures, operating models or workforce frameworks in a large and complex organisation.
Strong knowledge of classification frameworks, position architecture and workforce governance.
Experience providing expert advice to senior leaders on workforce and organisational design matters.
Highly developed analytical skills with the ability to translate workforce data into practical and strategic solutions.
Exceptional stakeholder engagement, influencing and communication skills.
Experience working within a complex, unionised and/or enterprise agreement environment will be highly regarded.
Key Responsibilities
Lead organisation-wide organisational design and workforce architecture initiatives.
Develop and maintain organisational design, position management and workforce governance frameworks.
Provide expert advice on organisational structures, role design, classification and remuneration matters.
Lead workforce modelling and strategic workforce planning activities.
Develop career pathway frameworks across clinical, corporate and operational workforces.




Utilise workforce analytics to support evidence-based decision making.
Partner with senior leaders to improve organisational effectiveness and workforce capability.
Support major organisational transformation and change initiatives across Northern Health
