Chinova Resourcesis a private Australian resources company owned by the Shanxi Donghui Group of Companies, with principal activities focussed in North‐West Queensland.
The company has existing operations at Osborne, south of Cloncurry, as well as several development projects and extensive exploration activity on a large tenement holding in the region.
Chinova has other open pit and potential underground projects expected to commence.
Key projects include the Osborne copper‐gold processing facility, the world's highest grade molybdenum and rhenium deposit; and Mount Elliott, our flagship project, which contains one of the largest copper‐gold, mineralised systems discovered in Australia
We seeking an experienced and highly motivatedSenior Exploration Geologistwith a track record of discovery or demonstrated abilities and aptitude that will contribute to a discovery.
You will need to be self‐motivated with an ability to work alone and to undertake systematic "science based" exploration consistent with agreed exploration programs.
You are expected to contribute and debate the various aspects of our Cloncurry exploration models, and actively participate in technical reviews, in addition apply a mineral systems approach to exploration and keep informed of any recent techniques or technologies relevant to these mineral systems.
TheSenior Exploration Geologistrole reports to the Exploration Manager.
The Senior Exploration Geologist is responsible for leading and executing exploration programs targeting metal resources.
The role provides technical expertise, operational leadership, and strategic input to identify, evaluate, and advance mineral resources from early‐stage exploration through to resource definition.
Duties within this role include, but not limited to :
Technical
Field‐based mapping,



sampling and where required supervision of contractors.
Preparation of detailed exploration programs to address specific project milestones.
This may include drilling, geochemistry and geophysical programs to test specific targets in 3D to support target generation and ranking.
Milestone planning and budgeting with clearly identified outcomes.
Implementation and undertaking exploration activities across Chinova's tenements, including:Preparation of drilling programs and budgets.
Liaising with and supervision of contractors.
Logging, sampling, QAQC and application of best practice geoscientific principles.
Ensure all data collected is reviewed and assessed prior to being uploaded to the geological database (i.e. Genobank).
Implementing and monitoring exploration programs in support of Zero Harm through participation in and commitment to SHEC procedures and initiatives.
Prepare technical reports, presentations, and statutory documentation.
Strategic Planning & Execution
Contribute to the development of exploration strategies aligned with company growth objectives.
Identify and evaluate new project opportunities and mineral prospects.
Prioritise exploration targets based on geological potential, risk, and economic considerations.
Develop short‐ and long‐time exploration plans, including budgets and resource allocation.
Support business cases for project advancement, including scoping and feasibility inputs.




Collaborate with senior leadership on portfolio management and exploration investment decisions.
Drive innovation in exploration techniques, technologies, and data analysis.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science with Honours in Geology.
Minimum of 8 years' relevant experience working with precious metals, iron oxide copper‐gold (IOCG), and base metal exploration.
Experience with project generation and a demonstrable track record of involvement in mineral discovery.
Sound technical knowledge and understanding of:Exploration methods and techniques.
IOCG mineral systems, gold‐copper and base metal mineral deposits.
GIS and 3D modelling software (Micromine, MapInfo, QGIS).
Good organisational skills including the manipulation, evaluation, and integration of multiple levels of geoscientific data.
Interpretation of multielement geochemistry data.
Good understanding of tenement management requirements.
Pro‐active, self‐starter capable of working in a team of professionals.
This is a permanent FIFO opportunity on an 8/6 roster.
