This is a Level 9 leadership role suited to a high-performing individual who not only leads design delivery, but sets direction, mentors teams, and influences how infrastructure is delivered across Queensland.Role accountabilities:As Design Manager – Roads, you will take accountability for the planning, coordination and successful delivery of design across major projects, ensuring outcomes that are safe, buildable, compliant and commercially sound.You will:Lead design delivery across major road infrastructure projects (concept to detailed design)Plan and manage design programmes, resources and multidisciplinary integrationDrive technical excellence across civil, drainage, structures, utilities and traffic disciplinesEnsure compliance with TMR standards, PAF processes and project criteriaLead risk, optioneering and constructability workshopsProvide technical leadership and oversight of complex road design solutionsWork closely with Project Directors and Managers to ensure time, cost and quality outcomesOversee digital design delivery, including BIM and model-based coordinationMentor and develop engineers and designers,



strengthening team capability and successionSupport bids, proposals and client engagement to drive pipeline growthThis aligns with Arcadis Design Manager roles where leaders are responsible for managing multidisciplinary teams, coordinating programmes and delivering quality outcomes across disciplines.Qualification & Experience:We are seeking a leader who combines technical depth, delivery excellence and commercial awareness:12+ years' experience in road / civil infrastructure design deliveryDemonstrated experience delivering TMR or equivalent transport authority projectsProven ability to lead multidisciplinary design teams across all project stagesStrong understanding of TMR standards, PAF, and approval pathwaysExperience managing design scope, programme, budget and riskAbility to develop and deliver complex, non-standard technical solutions (L9 expectation)Robust stakeholder management across clients, contractors and internal teamsCommercial acumen and experience supporting bids and work winningTrack record of mentoring, coaching and developing high-performing teamsLeadership at Level 9 (Arcadis)This is a step-change role, where you will be expected to:Provide technical leadership beyond project level, influencing standards and best practiceLead complex, high-risk design solutions and outcomesDrive innovation in tools,
