Job Description
The Principal Quantitative Risk Specialist plays a key role in monitoring, analysing and reporting financial and market risks associated with Ergon Energy Queensland's (EEQ) participation in the National Electricity Market (NEM).
This position leads the development and enhancement of advanced quantitative risk models and methodologies, including market, credit, cash flow and margin‐at‐risk frameworks, while ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
Amplify your impact
Provide expert advice and actionable insights to assist the Manager Retail Risk to support trading strategies, risk mitigation and strategic decision‐making, and deliver accurate portfolio risk positions, performance, valuation and risk exposure analysis to senior stakeholders.
Mentor and lead risk analysts, proactively identify and report risk issues or potential non‐compliance, and collaborate across the organisation.

Remuneration
The remuneration for your new role starts from $219,962 per annum + *****% superannuation for a 10‐day fortnight.
From $191,274 per annum + *****% superannuation for a 9‐day fortnight.

About the Candidate
Bachelor Degree in a quantitative discipline eg.
Mathematics, Finance, Engineering, Economics or Information Technology and/or equivalent demonstrated experience.
Demonstrated robust quantitative analysis abilities and development skills in quantitative tools and languages (Matlab or Python).
Advanced quantitative modelling skills, including understanding of stochastic modelling (in particular simulation of non‐normal multivariate processes) and experience in developing at risk models.
Detailed understanding of theory and demonstrated practical application of mark to market valuation, margin at risk, credit risk, cash flow at risk and valuation of complex electricity derivatives.
While not essential, Post Graduate qualifications in Mathematics, Finance or a related area will be advantageous with relevant Industry Accreditation.
Demonstrated high level analysis skills and ability to interpret complex data.
Ability to work under pressure, both autonomously and in a team setting to meet deadlines and time commitments while managing multiple priorities.
