Position Overview
We are looking for a LGBTIQA+ Specialist to lead and influence initiatives that strengthen inclusive practices, build organisational capability and champion the needs of LGBTIQA+ communities across our Social and Community Mission (SCM) team.
Key Responsibilities
Lead LGBTIQA+ inclusion initiatives across SCM, supporting the delivery of quality improvement priorities and Rainbow Tick accreditation outcomes.
Embed inclusive practice through specialist advice, resources, consultation, data insights and Communities of Practice that build capability across services.
Develop and maintain strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring meaningful engagement with key organisations and communities within the LGBTIQA+ sector.
Champion workforce inclusion by supporting initiatives that enhance the experience, wellbeing and sense of belonging of LGBTIQA+ employees.
Coordinate and promote participation in LGBTIQA+ events and awareness initiatives, strengthening advocacy, visibility and inclusive service delivery across the organisation.
Qualifications
Tertiary degree qualification in Social Work, Welfare, Community Development or related field, or demonstrated commensurate sector knowledge through previous appointments and career development.
At least 5 years' experience in a community services role.
Demonstrated ability to influence and build robust stakeholder relationships, fostering collaboration, navigating complex discussions and driving positive outcomes across diverse groups.
Proven capability to lead change, innovation and continuous improvement, developing and implementing strategic initiatives that strengthen inclusive practices and enhance service delivery.
Current Employee Working with Children Check.




Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (mandatory for all roles).
Conditions & Compensation
Permanent part‐time, 19 hours per week.
Hybrid role based either at our Territorial Support Office in Blackburn, VIC or our Territorial Headquarters in Redfern, NSW.
Compensation is in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services (SCHADS) Award – Level 7.
