Job Description
The Field Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and supporting a team of Service Technicians to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality service delivery at customer sites. The Field Supervisor provides hands‐on technical guidance, coordinates daily operations, and acts as a key liaison between the team, planning staff, management, and customer contacts to ensure work is completed according to customer requirements and company standards. The Field Supervisor also monitors performance, provides feedback, conducts spot audits as required, troubleshoots complex issues, and fosters the development and skills of the technical team.
Responsibilities
Supervise field operatives including customer consultation, spot audits, quality control and safety.
Carry out basic inspection services on various makes and models of standard cranes.
Perform minor repairs, field modernisations, and smaller installation jobs on standard equipment.
Identify and source basic parts for sales and repairs.
Offer basic repair and field modernisation solutions to customers.
Attend emergency breakdowns and repair faults on standard cranes.
Ensure all parts and materials are available and correct before repair works are undertaken.
Assist the Service Manager in determining labour estimates, special tools, requirements or hazards on larger jobs.
Collaborate with the Project Management team as required.
Guide Account Managers with estimated hours of labour and costs for repairs.
Perform safety review and visit reviews,
documenting next steps.
Qualifications
Trade qualified with an electrical license.
Previous experience in a similar industry.
Excellent communication skills.
Safety conscious.
Team player.
Good time‐management and organisational skills.
Must be willing to travel interstate.
Electrical Licence or Mechanical Trade Certificate.
Current and valid Driver Licence.
Working at Heights competency.
Broad knowledge of relevant Australian Standards.
Ability to work with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
In‐depth knowledge of Konecranes and Demag Service Products.
In‐depth knowledge of Konecranes and Demag Field modernisation solutions.
Excellent customer relations and strong dispute‐handling skills.
Experience supervising small teams on larger projects.
