Our client are a large Australian Financial services business based in the Sydney CBD. Due to a number of recent large IT projects they are looking to hire a Power Platform Engineer. This position is responsible for building Microsoft Power Apps(Model Driven Power Apps or Canvas Apps)
Key Responsibilities
Build solutions across the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, Power BI where applicable).
Understanding of Dataverse concepts including tables, relationships, choices, business rules, security roles, and auditing.
Designing scalable solutions aligned to enterprise standards, including environment strategy (Dev/Test/Prod) and governance.
Design and develop Canvas Apps with strong UX/UI practices (responsive layouts, reusable components, accessibility considerations).
Integrate Canvas Apps with data sources such as Dataverse, SharePoint, SQL, and REST APIs.
Implement efficient formula logic, performance optimisation, error handling, and user-friendly validation.
Configure and extend Model-driven Apps including forms, views, charts, dashboards, business process flows (BPFs), and command bar customisations.
leverage Dataverse features such as business rules, calculated/rollup columns, and advanced relationship modelling.
Design role-based experiences and navigation for multiple user personas.
Build Power Automate cloud flows for workflow automation, approvals, notifications, and system integrations.
Key Skills
Experience integrating Power Platform solutions with M365 services (Teams, Outlook, SharePoint) and external systems (APIs, webhooks, SQL).
Ability to design data capture and synchronisation patterns, data validation controls, and logging/monitoring.
Working knowledge of authentication/authorisation patterns relevant to Power Platform integrations (e.g., OAuth, service principals, managed identities where applicable).
Experience using Solutions (managed/unmanaged), environment variables, connection references, and deployment practices across environments.
Familiarity with release management and ideally CI/CD practices using Azure DevOps or GitHub for Power Platform.
Exposure to Power Pages, Power BI embedding, or advanced Dataverse configuration (e.g., auditing strategy, data import/export approaches).
