Job Overview
Full-time, fixed-term position for 2 years for a dedicated Postdoctoral Research Fellow. Opportunity to contribute to innovative mental health research and translational outcomes. Base Salary $132,533 + 17% superannuation.
The University of Sydney's Brain and Mind Centre is a centre for discovery, innovation and integrative research strategies, clinical product development and actions that translate research into improved treatment and disease prevention strategies. The centre is made up of 27 research units, staffed by around 200 researchers and 100 students. The Youth Mental Health and Technology team puts young people at the centre of their own care. We partner with health services to develop innovative treatments for those aged ***** with emerging mental health disorders. The integration of cutting‐edge research with secure and effective clinical care enables us to quickly and effectively translate our research findings into clinical services, facilitating continuous improvements to mental health services for the benefit of young people in Australia. We are looking for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join the Youth Mental Health and Technology research team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to high‐impact mental health research, working collaboratively with researchers, clinicians, and external partners to improve outcomes for young people experiencing mental ill‐health. The successful candidate will undertake independent and collaborative research activities, contribute to publications, and grant applications, and play a key role in advancing the research profile and impact of the team.
Key Responsibilities
Work closely with multidisciplinary research collaborators.
Conduct original research and contribute to high‐quality publications and presentations in the field of youth mental health.
Support the development of competitive research grant applications and funding proposals.
Establish and maintain research collaborations with academic, industry,



and community partners.
Supervise and mentor research students and junior researchers where appropriate.
Qualifications
PhD in psychology, psychiatry, mental health, public health, or a related discipline.
Demonstrated experience conducting original research and scholarly activities in youth mental health.
An emerging track record of peer‐reviewed publications and research outputs in mental health.
Experience contributing to competitive research grants or funding applications.
Demonstrated ability to develop collaborative research partnerships and stakeholder networks.
Experience supervising, mentoring, or supporting students and/or early career researchers.
Experience with data science approaches to analyse clinical and digital mental health assessment data to generate new digital tools.
Eligibility and Conditions
You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this employment to be eligible to apply. Visa sponsorship is not available for this appointment.
