Job Description
Ventia has an exciting prospect for a trade-qualified Technical Supervisor to oversee critical Defence maintenance activities in Lavarack Barracks in Townsville, QLD.
Reporting to the Site Manager, you'll lead day-to-day service delivery, ensuring safety, compliance, and quality across trade and admin teams. You'll support Defence maintenance operations while fostering a high-performing, positive team culture.
Supervise the trades workforce, ensuring all work meets safety, quality, and compliance standards.
Coordinate with schedulers, maintenance planners, and relevant stakeholders to allocate resources effectively.
Conduct incident investigations and reporting, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution.
Maintain effective communication with management while ensuring administrative tasks and processes are completed accurately and on time.
Lead, mentor, and develop staff, including training, inductions, and fostering a positive team culture.

About the Candidate
Proven experience leading maintenance teams and managing technical activities in a defence environment.
Demonstrated experience with heavy and armoured vehicles
Relevant trade qualification is required – Cert III in Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or equivalent
Strong communication, customer service, and leadership skills
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to efficiently manage competing priorities and stakeholders at various levels of seniority (including military personnel).
Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and SAP system (preffered)
Current Australian driver's licence (HR/HC desirable)
Must be an Australian Citizen and eligible to obtain a Defence NV1 Security Clearance.
