Role Overview
The Structural Engineering Internship is an exciting chance for students or recent graduates to gain hands‐on experience in the field of structural engineering. This internship is designed to provide practical exposure to ongoing projects, allowing interns to apply their academic knowledge to real‐world challenges while working closely with our experienced engineering team onsite in Australia.
Role Responsibilities
Assist in the design and analysis of structural components and systems.
Perform calculations and assessments to ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards.
Participate in site visits to observe construction processes and gather data.
Prepare sketches and drawings using AutoCAD and other design software.
Collaborate with team members to develop engineering solutions for various projects.
Help conduct structural inspections and evaluations of existing structures.
Support in the preparation of technical reports and documentation.
Learn and apply principles of project management in real‐world settings.
Attend project meetings and contribute to discussions regarding project progress.
Research and analyze materials and techniques used in structural engineering.
Assist in project planning and scheduling to ensure timely delivery.
Work with senior engineers to develop innovative designs tailored to client needs.
Gain exposure to various phases of the engineering lifecycle from conception to completion.
Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while working onsite.
Engage with clients and stakeholders to understand their requirements and expectations.
Qualifications
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
Solid understanding of engineering principles and mathematics.
Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software.
Excellent analytical and problem‐solving skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
Detail‐oriented with strong organizational skills.
Capable of managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
Basic knowledge of building codes and standards is an advantage.
Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast‐paced workplace.
Prior internship or project experience in engineering is a plus.
Availability to work on‐site in Australia for the duration of the internship.
Commitment to personal and professional growth.
Valid work rights in Australia.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Professional demeanor and positive attitude.
