AO6 Project Manager | Government Building Projects | Townsville

Hays Construction North Queensland are excited to partner with a renowned government organisation that provides essential maintenance, construction and building services across North Queensland.
They are currently seeking a self-motivated and experienced AO6 Project Manager to join their busy team on a temporary contract, based in Townsville.
Your current role
In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing all aspects of building project delivery, from pre-design, design and documentation through to contract administration and post-construction activities.
You will work closely with internal teams, external consultants, contractors, clients and key stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered in line with scope, time, cost, cash-flow and quality requirements.
You will provide high-level contract coordination across traditional and non-traditional contract systems, manage project performance, monitor time and cost variances, prepare reporting where required, and support project audits to ensure quality outcomes.
You will also contribute to stakeholder negotiations, value-for-money solutions and effective communication across all project phases.
This role will suit someone who is confident in leading project activity, managing competing priorities and working in a fast-paced public sector environment.
What you'll need to succeed
Demonstrated project management experience within the construction, building, civil or infrastructure sector.
Experience coordinating building project activities across design, documentation, contract administration and post-construction phases.
Strong contract coordination experience, including working with contractors, consultants, clients and internal stakeholders.
Experience working on major projects.
Excellent planning, organisation and decision-making skills, particularly when managing deadlines and competing priorities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with customers and stakeholders.
Ability to monitor project performance, manage variances and support quality assurance processes.
A current C Class drivers licence.
A relevant qualification in engineering, construction, project management or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
