About the Role: The Department is seeking an experienced and skilled Finance Support Officer.
Primary Duties:
Act as a front door for staff to provide accurate and timely advice across the division on financial matters.
Ensuring boundaries of the Department versus specialist areas are known and understood.
Provide training and capability uplift, this includes current staff training on best practices and expectations.
CATS timelines, correct codes and accuracy, forecasting and actuals reporting, use of tooling (including using Power BI)
Drive analysis and corrective actions to ensure financial accuracy and continuous improvement of divisional finances, including CATS.
Identify and implement improvements (as appropriate) in current and future work practices to ensure financial sustainability.
Ongoing reduction in CATS errors (journaling activities)
outstanding timesheets and non-compliance




Increase financial literacy of divisional staff that is aligned to departmental requirements.
Identification of enhancements and improvement opportunities and ability to drive action to get desired outcomes.
Responsible for ensuring financial correspondence via the centralised Departmentmailbox for the division is managed appropriately and in a timely manner.
Location and Contract Term:
This role can be based in ACT, SA or QLD.
Contract 1 October ********* September **** with 1x12 - month contract extension options pending budget and delegate approval.
