What you will do:
Manage a complex caseload of children, young people, and families within the locality service.
Undertake assessments, care planning, reviews, and safeguarding investigations in accordance with statutory requirements.
Lead and manage Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and Looked After Children (LAC) cases.
Complete statutory visits, risk assessments, court reports, and other key documentation.
Develop, implement, and review outcome-focused care and support plans.
Work collaboratively with education, health services, police, voluntary organisations, and other partner agencies.
Chair and contribute to professional meetings, reviews, and case conferences.
Provide mentoring, support, and guidance to newly qualified and less experienced social workers.
Maintain accurate, timely, and high-quality case recordings in line with legislation, policies, and professional standards.
Promote the safety, welfare, wellbeing, and long-term outcomes of children and young people.
Person Specification:
Current Social Work England registration.
Degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work.
Significant post-qualification experience within Children's Social Care.
Experience managing complex safeguarding, Child in Need, Child Protection, and Looked After Children cases.
Strong knowledge of the Children Act *********, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and associated legislation.
Excellent assessment, report writing, analysis, and case management skills.
Experience working effectively within multidisciplinary and multi-agency environments.
Strong communication, organisational, and decision-making abilities.
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, or the ability to travel across the locality as required.
Experience supervising, mentoring, or supporting other social workers.
Knowledge of Signs of Safety and other strengths-based practice models.
Experience using electronic case management systems such as Liquidlogic.
