An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior Tiling Estimator to join our friendly, hard-working team based in Rockdale, NSW.About Design TilesDesign Tiles is looking for a passionate and driven individual who is eager to develop and grow within a professional organisation.
You will be working alongside our Director and Senior Estimator to assist in delivering the key responsibilities outlined below.This position will be based in our Rockdale office.Key responsibilities for this position include:Identifying and developing scopes of worksInterpreting construction drawings, architectural drawings and specificationsPreparing Bills of QuantitiesProject administration, including preparing a quote register listing all projects submitted on a weekly basis so they can be followed up from time to timeReviewing and evaluating cost estimatesCompleting quantity take-offs from construction plans using estimating softwareLiaising and coordinating with suppliersAssisting with general estimating and project administration tasks as requiredThe skills required for this position are:Sound knowledge of Cubit and Microsoft Office, including Outlook,



Excel and WordAbility to read and interpret architectural plans and take off quantitiesConfidence in summarising drawings and project requirementsStrong computer skills in Excel and measurement softwareCubit or CostX experience is preferredExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsGreat time management and prioritisation skillsStrong attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a teamSelf-motivated with a solid work ethicWillingness to undertake a variety of tasks and responsibilitiesSound building and construction industry knowledgeAbility to meet deadlinesA relevant qualification and preferably 2 years of experience in estimating, ideally within the construction or trades industryNote: Students and recent graduates are also welcome to apply.This role will be a contract-based position for a period of 6 to 12 months, as it is a maternity leave replacement role.
However, as our company is growing, there is potential for this role to become permanent full-time position.Annual Salary Package: $60,000 – $70,000 including superannuation per year, depending on competency and experience.
