The role
We're seeking Australian Registered Architects to join our Brisbane studio and contribute to transformative retail, mixed-use, and multi-residential projects.
Lead design and delivery of high-profile architectural projects from concept through delivery including documentation, master planning,urban design, placemaking.
Ideally suited to an all-rounder, with design, delivery and technical ability you should be able to present your schemes with sketches and be confident with multiple software and presentation techniques.
As a Registered Architect you will utilise your design / technical skills to achieve project delivery in accordance with Buchan's quality systems.
Key Responsibilities
Design
Contribute to evolving the design through the project life cycle.
Collaborate with project teams and other consultants to ensure that ongoing works are consistent with the original design intent.
Documentation + Coordination
Develop detailed and accurate drawings, 3D models, and presentationmaterials using Revit, Rhino, and Adobe Creative Suite.
Collaborate with client to determine their requirements and discuss the feasibility of their project goals and attendance at meetings
Present design concepts to clients and stakeholders with clarity and confidence.
Coordinate with consultants, engineers, and contractors to ensure seamless integration of design intent and technical requirements.
Site Services
Oversee the construction process by monitoring progress, ensuring quality control and compliance with building regulations and codes, and adjusting plans as necessary.
Conduct site visits to oversee construction progress and resolve design challenges in real time.
Project Management
Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables while maintaining design excellence.
Conduct research on new materials, technologies, and construction methods, and apply this knowledge to projects.
Professional Development
Keep up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and standards to ensure compliance and innovation in project designs.
Provide guidance to junior architects and interns and participate in their training and development.
Work in accordance with the business' visions and values
Qualifications & Requirements:
Australian Registered Architect in jurisdiction of practice.
Minimum experience 5 yrs post-Masters and minimum 2 yrs post-Registration.
Must have proven experience with large or complex projects in retail, mixed-use or multi-residential sectors.
Proficiency in Revit and a solid understanding of BIM workflows.
A creative mindset with a keen eye for detail and functionality.
Solid preference for experienced user in, Rhino, Photoshop and InDesign
Good communication, collaboration and project management skills and the ability to engageconfidently with clients and consultants.
Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and timelines.
