Safely delivering next-generation infrastructure that better connects people and transforms communities is at the heart of what we do.The OpportunityWe are seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced Health and Safety candidates local to Townsville and surrounding suburbs who have a proven background in construction, civil engineering, heavy industry or similar.As a Health & Safety Professional at CPB, you can expect your role to include (but not be limited to!) the following responsibilities:Assisting in the delivery of Toolbox Talks ensuring the quality of content & delivery for safety topicsParticipate in weekly Safety Inspections and Task Observations with the project delivery team to provide advice, guidance and support in identification and rectification of issuesSupporting the use of, including undertaking monitoring and auditing of the records management system for safety recordsReviewing Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS)
and facilitation of SWMS development workshops where necessaryReviewing Contractor Safety Management Plans and Systems to ensure conformance to requirementsAssisting to compile data/evidence for monthly reportingAssisting in the development of S&H; standards and processes to ensure the Project(s) complies with regulatory and governance requirementsConducting routine audits and reviews of the safety management system implementation on project including issuing non-conformances, areas of concern and associated action plansOur minimum requirements for this role are:Experience in large construction projects idealCert IV Work Health and SafetyExtensive understanding in the interpretation of WHS legislation, Codes of Practices and AS/NZS ISODemonstrated ability to work successfully and autonomously within a fast-paced project environment and deliver on deadlinesMust be available to work weekend and/or night shifts in accordance with requirementsWe particularly welcome and encourage applications from Indigenous Peoples, women, the LGBTQIA+ community, mature workers, Veterans and Active Defence Reserve members, people with disabilities and people from different cultural backgrounds.
