and our supply chain continues to evolve as the business grows.With several major Defence programs underway and significant growth planned over the coming years, we are investing in our supply chain capability.
This newly evolved leadership role offers the opportunity to influence procurement strategy, modernise systems, contribute to our ERP implementation, and build a best‐practice supply chain function that supports the future of the business.This is a hands‐on leadership position where you will have the opportunity to improve systems, optimise processes and shape the future of our supply chain capability.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the Group's procurement, inventory, warehousing and logistics functions.Develop and implement procurement strategies that balance cost, quality, lead time and operational risk.Build strong supplier relationships and monitor supplier performance.Ensure purchasing activities are completed within agreed service levels.Oversee inventory management to maximise stock accuracy while minimising excess and obsolete inventory.Manage warehouse operations, receiving, dispatch and domestic/international logistics.Develop and monitor supply chain KPIs and provide reporting to senior leadership.Support production planning and collaborate with project teams to ensure material availability.Lead, coach and develop the Supply Chain team.Lead the Supply Chain function's involvement in the implementation and ongoing optimisation of Alkath Group's ERP system, ensuring best‐practice procurement,
inventory and warehousing processes are embedded.Own the integrity of purchasing, supplier, and warehouse master data, ensuring business systems contain accurate, complete and reliable information to support planning, reporting and operational decision‐making.About You:You'll be an experienced supply chain professional who enjoys improving processes, leading people and working collaboratively across multiple business functions.You'll bring:Tertiary qualifications in Supply Chain, Procurement, Logistics, Business or a related disciplineDemonstrated experience leading supply chain, procurement or logistics functions within manufacturing, engineering or DefenceStrong knowledge of purchasing, inventory management, warehousing and logisticsExperience managing supplier performance and commercial relationships.Proven leadership experience with the ability to coach and develop teams.Robust analytical and problem‐solving skills.Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.Experience using ERP systems and Microsoft Office.The ability to balance strategic thinking with hands‐on operational leadership.Desirable:Experience working within ISO **** Quality Management Systems.Knowledge of Defence procurement and Australian Industry Capability (AIC) requirements.Experience leading business process or continuous improvement initiatives.Knowledge of DEF(AUST)****C ADF Packaging Standard.All final applicants will be asked to consent to a criminal record check.
