About the roleWe are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Chef/Cook to join our kitchen team at Bridges hill bistro in Cessnock, NSW.
This is a full-time position that offers an exciting chance to contribute to our culinary operations and help us maintain our reputation for excellent food and service.
As a Chef/Cook, you will play a vital role in our kitchen, working collaboratively with our team to prepare high-quality dishes that delight our guests.
This position is based on-site at our Cessnock location and offers the chance to work in a dynamic hospitality environment.What you'll be doingPreparing and cooking a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specificationsMaintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency across all dishesEnsuring proper food storage, handling, and hygiene practices in compliance with food safety regulationsManaging preparation of ingredients, including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioningWorking efficiently during service periods to meet orders within required timeframesContributing to menu development and suggesting creative culinary ideasMaintaining a clean and organised kitchen workspace and equipmentCollaborating with other kitchen staff and front-of-house team to deliver seamless guest experiencesFollowing all health and safety procedures and company policiesAssisting with inventory management and stock rotation as requiredWhat we're looking forProven experience as a Chef/Cook in a commercial kitchen or hospitality settingStrong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and food safety standardsAbility to work efficiently under pressure and during busy service periodsExcellent time management and organisational skillsA passion for quality food and attention to detail in presentation and tastePhysical fitness and stamina to work in a fast-paced kitchen environmentStrong communication and teamwork abilitiesFlexibility with scheduling, including potential weekends and public holidaysCurrent Food Safety Supervisor certification or willingness to obtain one is desirableRelevant culinary qualifications or training is preferred but not essential if you have substantial practical experienceWhat we offerAt Bridges Hill Bistro, we value our culinary team and offer a supportive work environment where your skills and creativity are appreciated.
