The APS 6 Product Integration Support Officer delivers enterprise-level Integrated Product Support (IPS) and Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) outcomes that enhance capability availability, sustainment performance, and operational readiness across the EA-18G Growler and F/A-18F Super Hornet fleets.
Operating within the Sustainment Management Unit (SMU) and working as part of a team, the role provides coordination, integration, and assurance across engineering, logistics, commercial, maintenance management, finance, operational stakeholders, industry partners, Air Force capability managers, and CASG governance functions.
The position contributes to the achievement of Defence strategic priorities outlined in the National Defence Strategy (NDS), Integrated Investment Program (IIP), CAF21 Product Sustainment Framework, and CASG governance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate enterprise sustainment activities to enhance Integrated Product Support (including logistics) to provide effective capability outcomes across the systems lifecycle.
Monitor, analyse, and report on capability performance, sustainment metrics, risks, and assurance activities that influence capability availability and operational readiness.
Support governance, assurance, and enterprise risk management processes, ensuring compliance with policy, sustainment frameworks, and organisational governance requirements.
Facilitate collaboration and information exchange between organisational stakeholders, representatives, and industry partners to enable informed value for money decision‐making, prioritisation, and issue resolution.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of organisational knowledge, workforce resilience, and business continuity initiatives that strengthen long‐term sustainment effectiveness.
Support the integration of engineering, logistics, maintenance and financial considerations into sustainment planning and capability decision‐making.
Prepare high‐quality briefs, reports, and governance artefacts to support senior leadership engagement, assurance activities, and strategic decision‐making.
The APS 6 Product Integration Support Officer enables the effective integration of sustainment functions, ensuring that Growler and Super Hornet capabilities remain available, affordable, and operationally ready to meet current and future Defence requirements.
About our Team
The ACEASPO Sustainment Management Unit (SMU) is responsible for managing capability requirements and sustainment delivery outcomes for the Air Combat Electronic Attack capability.




As the primary interface with No. 82 Wing (82WG) and Defence industry, the SMU ensures requirements are understood, prioritised and managed effectively while monitoring capability performance against operational expectations.
The SMU is responsible for the governance, assurance and reporting of sustainment and financial performance, contractor performance, capability risks and issues.
The team comprises a mix of APS and ADF personnel, as well as contractors to Defence, all collaborating closely to manage enterprise‐level sustainment activities, resolve technical challenges and assure service delivery outcomes.
The SMU also maintains strong linkages with our industry partners and other Defence stakeholders to ensure alignment between operational needs and sustainment priorities.

The team delivers these outcomes through three integrated functional areas:
Product Management – manages capability requirements, sustainment performance, product outcomes and stakeholder engagement to ensure capability needs are met and operational objectives are achieved.
Budget Management and Reporting – provides financial governance, resource prioritisation, performance reporting and data‐driven insights to support informed decision‐making.
Logistics Governance and Assurance – delivers sustainment assurance, logistics governance, compliance oversight, risk management and continuous improvement initiatives across the capability.

experienced and motivated Integrated Product Management professional with a proven record in sustainment management who is committed to delivering capability performance and sustainment efforts with a strong ability to mentor and develop others within a complex environment.
They demonstrate adaptability, sound judgement and confidence when responding to shifting priorities and emerging challenges.
Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are essential, supported by emotional intelligence, professionalism and resilience.
The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of end‐to‐end logistics practices, including IPS attributes, procurement, inventory management and distribution in the context of relevant legislation, policy and procedures, and understands the logistical requirements to support the effective introduction, operation and long‐term sustainment of Defence capability.
They possess strong analytical skills and can interpret data, identify trends and apply insights to improve performance and outcomes, while supporting team development and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Be accountable for organising their workflow and making independent decisions relating to their area of responsibility to work through tasks and projects to meet deadlines.
Work collaboratively with stakeholders (both internal and external) and subject matter experts to resolve product sustainment, logistics and finance matters.
They will manage competing priorities to achieve capability performance and sustainment efforts outcomes and strengthen our reporting efforts on performance, risk management, continuous improvement and value for money.
