This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside a respected Neurosurgeon in a varied, autonomous and rewarding specialist practice.About the RoleThis collaborative clinical role offers the opportunity to work closely alongside the Neurosurgeon, providing comprehensive care to patients throughout their surgical journey.
Responsibilities include:Working collaboratively with the Neurosurgeon to conduct patient consultations, provide clinical assessments and coordinate patient carePre-operative patient education and assessmentsPost-operative wound reviews and wound managementTelephone triage and patient follow-upClinical assessment and monitoring of post-operative patientsCoordinating patient care throughout the surgical journeyProviding education and support to patients and their familiesParticipating in GP education evenings,
patient information sessions and other practice education initiativesAssisting with the development and implementation of clinical protocols and quality improvement initiativesWorking collaboratively with allied health professionals and the administration teamMaintaining accurate clinical documentation using Genie medical softwareDelivering a high standard of patient-centred careAbout YouThe successful applicant will possess:Current AHPRA registration as a Nurse Practitioner or Registered NursePrevious experience in specialist practice, surgical, perioperative, orthopaedic or neurosurgical nursing (highly regarded)Excellent wound management and clinical assessment skillsExceptional communication and interpersonal skillsStrong organisational and time management abilitiesA proactive, compassionate and patient-focused approachThe ability to work independently while contributing positively within a close-knit multidisciplinary teamWhat We OfferCompetitive hourly rates based on experience:Practice Nurse: $45-$55 per hourNurse Practitioner: $75-$85 per hourMonday to Friday hours - no shift work, weekends or public holidaysOpportunity to work closely alongside an experienced Neurosurgeon in a highly cooperative environmentA diverse and rewarding role with a balance of patient consultations, procedural care and clinical coordinationSupportive and friendly team cultureModern consulting rooms located within the Sunshine Coast Health PrecinctOpportunity to help shape and further develop the nursing role within a growing specialist practiceIf you are an experienced nurse looking for a rewarding role where you can make a genuine difference in the lives of neurosurgical patients while working as part of a dedicated and supportive team, we would love to hear from you.Applications will be treated with the strictest confidence.
