Estimator/ Programmer - Structural Steel

We are currently seeking an experienced Structural Steel Estimator / Programmer to join our Milperra team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with structural steel experience who enjoys working closely with customers, production teams and operators to deliver outstanding results
Reporting to the Processing Manager - Long Products, you will be responsible for managing the estimating and programming requirements for structural steel processing jobs from quotation through to completion.
You'll play a key role in ensuring projects are accurately estimated, programmed, scheduled and delivered efficiently.
Key responsibilities include:
Analyse structural steel drawings and engineering plans.
Prepare accurate quotations and estimates for steel processing.
Produce CNC programs for processing equipment.
Liaise with customers regarding quotations, production and delivery.
Monitor jobs throughout the production process to ensure deadlines are achieved.




Work closely with the operations team to maximise production efficiency and cost effectiveness.
To be successful in this role you will have:
Previous experience in estimating and programming within the steel industry.
A sound understanding of structural steel fabrication and processing.
The ability to confidently read and interpret engineering and construction drawings.
Experience with steel cutting and processing machinery.
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD and other CAD software.
Excellent organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
