Second Skin Dermatology is seeking a Medically Endorsed Enrolled Nurse to join our dermatology practice in Wollongong, NSW.
This is a part-time position offering flexibility whilst maintaining the high standard of patient care our clinic is known for.
As an Enrolled Nurse with medical endorsement, you will play a crucial role in delivering specialist dermatological nursing care, working closely with our dermatologists and supporting patients throughout their treatment journey.
This role is integral to our mission of providing exceptional dermatological services to our community.
Key responsibilities
Provide direct patient care under the supervision and direction of registered nurses and medical practitioners, including wound care and treatment supportAdminister medications and undertake prescribed nursing interventions as per medical endorsement scope of practicePrepare patients for dermatological procedures and assist medical staff during treatmentsMonitor and record patient vital signs and clinical observations, reporting any concerns to the supervising practitionerMaintain accurate and detailed patient records in accordance with regulatory requirements and best practice standardsAssist with patient education regarding skin conditions, treatment options and post-treatment careMaintain a clean, safe and sterile clinical environment, adhering to infection control and safety protocolsSupport the administrative and clinical workflow to ensure smooth clinic operationsCommunicate effectively with patients, medical staff and colleagues to ensure coordinated, compassionate care
What we're looking for
Current registration as an Enrolled Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA)Valid Medical Endorsement authorisation as an Endorsed Enrolled NurseCurrent First Aid certification and CPR qualificationKnowledge of dermatological conditions and treatments,
or willingness to develop specialised dermatology expertiseStrong clinical assessment and observation skills with the ability to recognise and report changes in patient conditionExcellent communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare teamProficiency in electronic health records and clinical documentation systemsA compassionate, patient-centred approach to care with strong attention to detailAbility to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a busy clinical environmentProfessional commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical and regulatory standardsExperience in dermatology, cosmetic nursing or specialist nursing is highly desirable
