Little Skool Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled and passionate Centre Cook to join our team on a part-time basis.
This role is based in Camden Park, NSW **** and is fundamental to delivering high-quality, nutritious meals to our centre community.
As Centre Cook, you will be responsible for meal preparation and kitchen operations, ensuring that every dish meets our standards for taste, presentation and nutritional value.
This position plays a vital role in supporting the wellbeing and development of the children and staff at our facility.
What you'll be doing
Planning and preparing a variety of meals and snacks that meet dietary requirements and nutritional guidelines for children and staff
Managing kitchen operations, including food storage, inventory management and maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards
Following food safety regulations and best practices to prevent contamination and ensure a safe kitchen environment
Accommodating dietary restrictions, allergies and special dietary needs of centre attendees
Preparing fresh, wholesome ingredients whilst minimising food waste
Collaborating with centre staff to understand specific menu preferences and nutritional requirements
Maintaining accurate records of food purchases, stock levels and menu planning
Cleaning and sanitising kitchen equipment and work areas according to health and safety standards
Occasionally assisting with food service and collection of meal feedback
What we're looking for
Relevant qualifications or certifications in cookery, hospitality or food preparation
Proven experience as a cook or chef in a professional kitchen environment, ideally including experience with institutional or childcare food service




Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards and health regulations
Ability to prepare nutritious, balanced meals suitable for various age groups
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and time effectively
Physical fitness and stamina to work in a kitchen environment for extended periods
Understanding of dietary requirements, including allergies and special needs
Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working within a team
A passion for quality food preparation and child wellbeing
Current food handling certificate or willingness to obtain one
