Y Schools Queensland Bundaberg Campus are seeking a passionate Teacher in Charge on a Permanent, Full-Time basis based in Bundaberg
About the role
As a Teacher in Charge here at Y Schools Queensland, you will support the Head of School and Head of Campus in their school leadership to achieve educational wellbeing and vocational targets/objectives.
Your day to day could start with supporting briefs, debriefs, parades, staff training, manage staff and volunteers, sign risk assessments to the oversight of the student engagement and case management processes.
What will my time look like?
Maintain a working knowledge of policies and procedures
Instructional leadership of teacher professional development
Run briefs, debriefs, parades, staff training, manage staff and volunteers, sign risk assessments
Oversee student engagement and case management processes
Take charge of targeted school programs/projects as agreed to by the Head of School/Campus and Deputy Principal
Am I a good match?
Current Registered Teaching Qualifications and relevant experience
Current First Aid Certificate and CPR Qualifications
Ability to apply appropriate knowledge to plan and prepare teaching and learning programs to meet the diverse characteristics, needs and learning styles of students who are at risk of disengaging from education
Knowledge of and the ability to implement effective and inclusive teaching and learning processes, including the use of learning technology and assessment, to establish an appropriate learning environment in which students are encouraged to work toward their potential
Ability to communicate effectively with students including the use of appropriate interpersonal skills and the ability to plan and apply appropriate behaviour management strategies that contribute to the establishment and maintenance of a supportive learning environment
Work successfully in a small team and within the schools' philosophy & ethos to establish productive partnerships and achieve educational outcomes
Be able to demonstrate the importance of following procedures and always ensuring a safe educational environment
Complete a National and/or International Police Check prior to employment and at the discretion of the YMCA
Currently possess, or be willing to obtain, a positive notice Blue Card in accordance with the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act ****
Achievement of YMCA's Safeguarding Children Training Certificate and complete annual refresher training.
