General Staircase is seeking an experienced and skilled Staircase Joiner/Fabricator to join our team on a full-time basis.
Based in Wetherill Park, NSW, this role is central to our business, as you will be responsible for the fabrication and assembly of high-quality staircases and related components.
As a Staircase Joiner/Fabricator, you will play a crucial part in delivering bespoke staircase solutions to our clients, ensuring that every project meets our exacting standards for craftsmanship and precision.
This position offers the opportunity to work with quality materials and contemporary equipment whilst contributing to the reputation of one of the region's leading staircase manufacturers.Key responsibilitiesFabricate and assemble staircase components using traditional joinery techniques and modern machineryRead and interpret technical drawings, plans and specifications to ensure accurate construction of staircase systemsMeasure, mark and cut timber and other materials to precise specificationsPerform detailed joinery work including mortise and tenon joints, dovetails and other specialist joints required for staircase constructionAssemble staircase components on site or in the workshop, including treads, risers, stringers and handrailsInstall and fit balustrades, newel posts and handrails with precision and attention to detailFinish and sand components to the required standard, preparing them for painting or stainingMaintain workshop tools and equipment in good working order and ensure compliance with health and safety regulationsQuality check all work to ensure it meets company standards and customer expectationsLiaise with the design and installation teams to ensure project requirements are understood and metWhat we're looking forProven experience as a Joiner or Cabinet Maker, with specific experience in staircase fabrication and assemblyStrong knowledge of timber selection,



joinery techniques and woodworking principlesProficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specificationsCompetency with a range of woodworking tools and machinery, including hand tools and power toolsAbility to work to precise measurements and exacting standardsKnowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices in workshop environmentsExcellent attention to detail and problem-solving skillsStrong communication and teamwork abilitiesA valid driver's license and willingness to travel to installation sites if requiredPreferred: Experience with curved staircases, spiral staircases or complex staircase designsPreferred: Certification or qualifications in carpentry, joinery or cabinet making from a recognised training providerWhat we offerAt General Staircase, we value our skilled craftspeople and offer a competitive remuneration package commensurate with experience.
