We are looking for an experienced and motivated Catering Assistant Supervisor to join the vibrant kitchen team at our client's 80-bed aged care facility in Gordonvale, QLD.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about food service, enjoys leading a team, and is committed to enhancing the dining experience of older Australians.You will play a key role in supporting the Chef Manager by leading and supervising a team of Catering Attendants while ensuring high standards of food service, resident satisfaction, and workplace compliance are maintained.This role offers the perfect balance of variety and consistency, along with a valuable opportunity to develop leadership skills and advance your career.Shift DetailsMonday to Friday from 8:00am to 5:30pmWhat You'll NeedA current Federal Police Check (or willingness to obtain one).
Previous catering, hospitality, food service, or aged care experience.Demonstrated experience in a supervisory or team leader role is highly desirable.Access to reliable transport.Skills and ExperienceExperience in aged care, healthcare, hospitality, or catering environments.Strong leadership and team supervision skills.Ability to train, mentor, and support new staff members.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Reliable, punctual, and well-organized.Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.Empathy, patience,



and respect when interacting with aged care residents.Excellent customer service and presentation standards.Ability to work collaboratively with the Chef Manager and broader care team.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and supervise a team of Catering Attendants within the facility.Train, mentor, and support new and existing catering staff.Work closely with the Chef Manager to ensure smooth daily kitchen and dining operations.Build positive relationships and engage with residents to promote an enjoyable dining experience.Coordinate meal service to residents and ensure service standards are consistently met.Assist with dining room setup, meal plating, and food presentation.Monitor cleaning standards within serveries, dining areas, and kitchen spaces.Complete and oversee quality assurance and food safety documentation.Support food preparation activities including salads, sandwiches, and light kitchen duties.Assist with function setup and pack down as required.Ensure compliance with food safety, infection control, and workplace health and safety procedures.Provide hands‐on support to the catering team during busy service periods.Foster a positive, respectful, and team‐focused workplace culture.If you are a passionate hospitality professional who enjoys leading people and making a meaningful difference in the lives of older Australians, we'd love to hear from you.Advantages and perksThis modern aged care facility is a short walking distance to the shops and there is free on-site parking available.The successful applicant will be offered a competitive hourly rate plus penalty loadings as per Hospitality Award.You will also receive comprehensive training to perform your role in a satisfactory manner.Staff Benefits program where you will have access to over 100+ retail discounts!
