We are seeking a WHSEQ Specialist to support our Queensland operations.
Reporting to the WHSEQ General Manager, you will play a key role in driving compliance, strengthening safety culture, and ensuring the effectiveness of our Health & Safety Management System (HSMS).
Key Responsibilities
Provide expertise to maintain and continuously improve the Health & Safety Management System (HSMS)
Ensure compliance with WHS/OHS legislation and regulatory requirements
Conduct workplace inspections, audits, and plant/equipment testing
Audit hazardous materials storage and handling, identifying gaps and implementing improvements
Coordinate statutory health monitoring of personnels
Lead risk assessments and deliver recommendations to senior management
Facilitate and track safety training requirements across departments
Monitor and improve emergency preparedness, including:
Reviewing evacuation procedures and emergency plans
Auditing emergency equipment and safety resources
Supporting and guiding emergency personnel
Conducting emergency drills and site evacuations
Lead incident and hazard investigations, ensuring:
Confidentiality and lawful handling of evidence
High-quality investigation standards
Stakeholder engagement and communication
Implementation of corrective and preventative actions
Ongoing monitoring of risks and improvements
Promote a strong safety‐first culture across the business
About You
Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar Safety Coordinator / HSE role
Advanced Diploma (or higher) in Occupational Health & Safety or related discipline
Background in manufacturing, production or transport industry
Proven ability to interpret safety legislation and communicate it in clear, practical terms to employees at all levels
Ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the business
Experience in monitoring incident and hazard investigations, with the ability to clearly communicate findings and recommendations
Confident conducting audits, inspections, and risk assessments
High attention to detail and proactive approach to safety and compliance
