We're looking for a Data Integration Engineer to join a scale up lending business, where you'll be the person who keeps data moving cleanly and reliably across the core systems.
This is a genuinely hands—on data engineering role, not a BI role in disguise.
You'll spend most of your time building and orchestrating pipelines on Azure and Microsoft Fabric, connecting systems via APIs, and working through some seriously large tables and legacy code that's ready for a rebuild.
If you like untangling messy, high-volume data problems as much as building clean current pipelines, this is for you.
What you'll be doing
Building and orchestrating data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, with active work migrating parts of our stack from Azure to Microsoft Fabric
Designing and maintaining a Medallion architecture (bronze/silver/gold) and semantic models that the rest of the business can actually rely on
Writing and optimising SQL, including database functions, across some very large tables
Building API—based integrations between our lending platform, CRM, and other core systems
Working through legacy codebases with heavy exception handling — improving reliability as you go, not just patching around it
Contributing to automation where it makes sense (Power Automate / Logic Apps), and lending a hand on reporting when it's genuinely needed — though that's a small part of the role, not the focus
About you
Strong SQL skills, you're comfortable writing and optimising complex queries and database functions, not just SELECT statements
Hands—on experience with Azure Data Factory and/or Microsoft Fabric, ideally you've been part of an Azure-to-Fabric migration or integration
Practical experience building or consuming APIs to move data between systems
You're not precious about "clean" codebases, you've worked in complex, real—world systems and know how to bring order to them
Experience with data modelling (Medallion architecture, semantic models, dimensional modelling) is a strong plus
Financial services, lending, or other regulated-industry experience is a bonus, not a requirement, we care more about what you can do than where you've done it
Role nuance
Office is based in Double Bay and due to the scale up nature of the business, our team is onsite 4-days a week.
The business is growing and we're expanding our capabilities to match.
This role can wear multiple hats and has significant influence on our roadmap for not only Data engineering, but also AI Engineering, Cloud/Platform and Analytics/Bi.
Flat structure with key business stakeholders sitting on the same floor.
Unrestricted access to SME knowledge and the expectation that you engage with the business.
