Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Network Development Engineer to join our team in Sydney.
In this role, you will be responsible for the design, deployment, and operation of network infrastructure that powers AWS services globally.
You will work alongside talented engineers to solve complex networking challenges at scale, automate operational processes, and drive improvements that enhance the reliability and performance of our network.

Key job responsibilities
Design, deploy, and troubleshoot network infrastructure including routers, switches, and optical transport systems across AWS data centers and backbone networks
Develop automation tools and scripts to streamline network operations, reduce manual toil, and improve operational efficiency
Perform root cause analysis on complex network incidents and drive resolution to minimize customer impact
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software engineers, systems engineers, and network architects to deliver scalable network solutions
Participate in on-call rotations to support 24/7 network operations and ensure high availability of AWS services
Contribute to capacity planning, network design reviews, and the development of operational best practices and runbooks
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement
