Job Title: Supply Chain & Logistics Planner – Associate
Location: Melbourne, Australia
About the Role
The Supply Chain & Logistics Planner manages the end-to-end supply chain loop for the Australian market.
This includes forecasting, inventory management, supplier coordination, and local distribution.
The role ensures uninterrupted product availability while maintaining strict regulatory compliance with the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
1. Supply Planning & Inventory Management
Forecast Demand: Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to build robust demand forecasts.
Manage Inventory: Balance stock levels to prevent shortages while minimizing holding costs and write-offs.
Oversee Lifecycles: Monitor product expiry dates and manage the phase-in/phase-out of stock.
Mitigate Shortages: Proactively identify supply risks and report potential shortages to the TGA via the Medicine Shortages Information System.
2. Logistics & Distribution
Inbound Freight: Coordinate international shipments (air and sea) with global manufacturing sites and freight forwarders.
Customs Clearance: Ensure smooth customs clearance, including holding required import permits.
Cold Chain Oversight:



Manage Temperature-Controlled Logistics (2-8°C and *****°C) to protect product integrity during transit.
3PL Management: Oversee Third-Party Logistics (3PL) providers to ensure timely local warehousing and distribution.
3. Quality & Regulatory Compliance
Maintain Code of GMP: Ensure all logistics activities align with Australian Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Positive Distribution Practice (GDP) standards.
Support Recalls: Assist the Quality Assurance team in mock recalls and inventory tracking.
Audit Readiness: Maintain accurate documentation for internal and external TGA audits.
Experience and Qualifications
Requirements (Must-Haves)
Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
Experience: 3–5 years of supply planning experience specifically within Pharmaceuticals.
Systems: High proficiency SAP, advanced Excel skill sets.
Local Knowledge: Solid understanding of Australian TGA regulations, GMP guidelines, and cold chain logistics.
Preferred Skills (Nice-to-Haves)
APICS / CPIM certification.
Experience managing local 3PL partners in Australia (e.g., DHL, HCl, Toll).
