Company descriptionThe Australian Medical Association (NSW) is the leading qualified association representing doctors and medical practitioners across NSW.As a not-for-profit membership organisation, we advocate for the medical profession and support our members through workplace relations advice, professional services, education, advocacy and member benefits.Based in St Leonards, our office is conveniently located within walking distance of St Leonards train station and Crows Nest Metro.Role descriptionReporting to the CEO and supported by an experienced senior HR consultant, this is an exciting opportunity for a HR professional who enjoys working closely with people and wants to make a genuine impact across the organisation.This is a part-time role working three days per week from the office.
It is a broad, hands-on HR role where you'll partner with employees and leaders across the business and be involved in all aspects of the employee lifecycle.You'll be the go-to person for day-to-day HR support while also contributing to projects, process improvements and initiatives that help create a positive and high performing workplace.Key responsibilitiesManage the end-to-end recruitment process to attract and retain talent aligned with our valuesCoordinate onboarding and induction programs for new employeesPrepare and maintain accurate employment documentation and employee recordsSupport performance review and performance management processesProvide day-to-day HR advice and support to managers and employeesCoordinate employee engagement and wellbeing initiativesReview,
update and implement HR policies and proceduresAssist with WHS compliance activities and reportingCoordinate learning and development activitiesContribute to HR projects and continuous improvement initiativesAbout you:You'll be someone who:Enjoys working with people and building strong relationships across all levels of an organisationLikes variety and being involved in both operational and project-based HR workIs confident providing practical HR advice and support to managers and employeesHas a strong understanding of the employee lifecycleTakes initiative and enjoys improving processes and finding better ways of workingWants to continue developing their HR career in a supportive environmentThrives in a small team where your contribution is valued and visibleEnjoys being approachable, hands-on and making a positive difference in the workplace.To be successful you will have:Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related disciplinePrevious experience in a HR coordinator, HR officer or similar roleSound knowledge of Australian employment legislation and HR best practiceStrong organisational skills and attention to detailExcellent written and verbal communication skillsThe ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomouslyStrong stakeholder management and relationship-building skillsA proactive, solutions focused approachThis role would suit an experienced HR coordinator, HR officer or HR advisor looking for a varied generalist role where they can develop their skills, work closely with leaders and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
