We are seeking for an experienced METAL FABRICATOR to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis.
Our focus is someone highly motivated and organized.
The person that joins our team needs to demonstrate competency and show knowledge in the field of processing.
Responsibilities
Select, clean and prepare metal stock for fabrication
Read and interpret engineering drawings and job sheets.
Cut and shape marked-out metal sections using CNC plasma, laser, drilling and other cutting equipment
cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines
shaping and bending metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, and by heating and hammering
aligning parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments
Perform basic machine setup and adjustments.
Measure and inspect finished components to ensure they meet specifications.
Deburr, grind and finish components as required.
Joining metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting and riveting
Cleaning and smoothing welds by filing, chiselling and grinding
examining welds for width of bead, penetration and precision
Finish products by cleaning, polishing,



filing and bathing in acidic solutions
Requirements
Previous experience in metal processing, fabrication or manufacturing (preferred but not essential).
Minimum 3-5 years of work experience in the field
Ability to read engineering drawings and use measuring equipment.
Experience operating CNC machinery is highly regarded.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
Physically fit and capable of handling heavy materials safely.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Reliable, punctual and self-motivated.
Current forklift licence (highly regarded).
Overhead crane ticket (highly regarded).
Current driver's licence and reliable transport.
Understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
