What you'll be doing
As an Advanced Clinical Coder,



you will use your extensive coding knowledge and experience to accurately code complex inpatient episodes, support data quality initiatives and contribute to the ongoing development of clinical coding excellence across the District.
Accurately assign ICD-10-AM and ACS compliant codes across a broad range of specialties using advanced clinical coding skills and judgement
Validate DRG allocation, support activity-based funding outcomes and maintain high standards of coding accuracy and throughput
Participate in coding quality audits, data integrity activities and continuous improvement initiatives within the WSLHD Coding Quality Plan
Provide guidance, mentoring and constructive feedback to less experienced coders while supporting team capability development
Analyse clinical documentation, complete coding queries and identify opportunities to improve documentation quality and coding outcomes
