Forefront Recruitment – Sydney Western Suburbs NSW
This is a client-side Project Manager opportunity with a global data centre developer delivering projects at a scale and complexity well beyond typical commercial builds.
The role sits within a billion-dollar precinct and forms part of a long-term delivery program rather than a one-off project.
The position is predominantly site-based in Melbourne's western suburbs and reports directly to a Project Director.
This is a delivery role, not an advisory or design-led position.
The project is now at the fit-out stage and is heavy services-orientated.
You will be working at the coalface of the project, supporting day-to-day delivery across program inputs, contractor and consultant coordination, sequencing, issue resolution and site-based decision-making for a highly technical fit-out.
This project requires people who have been embedded on complex live builds and understand how projects actually move on-site.
Experience must come from environments such as data centres, hospitals, critical infrastructure, automation-led facilities, laboratories or similarly complex projects where service integration, commissioning and coordination are central to delivery.
Candidates from architecture,
design-only or advisory backgrounds without live construction delivery experience will not be suited.
The team works in a practical, delivery-led way and has built strong camaraderie in office.
The company has a genuinely good culture, with an approachable leadership team and people who work closely together to keep delivery moving.
People are expected to take ownership, communicate clearly and stay close to the details.
This is not a role for someone looking to manage from a distance or operate primarily from an office environment.
This role would suit a construction Senior Project Engineer, Senior Project Coordinator or a delivery-focused Project Manager who has worked on large, technically complex projects and is ready to step into a client-side role while remaining heavily involved in construction.
The role is site-based but flexible.
There is scope to work from home one day per week, or from the inner-CBD head office one day per week, when appropriate.
The expectation, however, is that the right person wants to be on-site and engaged with the project.
The salary for this role is up to a $240k package plus annual bonus, depending on experience.
