Greenacres Cafes and Catering currently operate 4 social enterprise cafes and a catering kitchen within the Illawarra, providing meaningful mainstream employment for people with disability.

We are looking for passionate and capable Casual Cafe Supervisors to join our team.
This is an prospect for an experienced hospitality leader to bring energy, initiative and heart to a role that blends cafe excellence with genuine social impact.
Reporting to the Hospitality and Retail Area Manager, this hands‐on role involves leading and supporting supported employees to deliver high service standards while contributing to a workplace that is inclusive, supportive and purpose‐driven.
You will be someone who believes hospitality can be both commercially strong and socially valuable, and you are excited by the idea of helping create employment opportunities and inclusive workplaces for people with disability.
Responsibilities include ensuring customers' expectations are met, maintaining food safety, hygiene and WHS standards, and adhering to the NDIS Practice Standards while coordinating the smooth running of the café and providing guidance and support to the team.
The role also includes daily cash management, ordering food and supplies, stock control and general administration tasks.
An ability to make high‐quality coffee is essential.
The ability to travel to our café locations (Wollongong, Albion Park and/or Shell Cove) is required.
In this role, you will:
Support employees with disability in food and beverage preparation, customer service, use of POS systems, cleaning tasks and stock management
Open and close the café as required
Clean and maintain café areas to a high standard
Serve quality beverages and food items using correct tools and presentation
Manage busy trade periods to ensure efficient service and minimal wait times
Complete daily ordering, stock control and minimise wastage
Liaise with suppliers and resolve product issues, including organising credits
Ensure compliance with food safety, WHS and legislative requirements
Provide on‐the‐job training and support to supported employees
Record daily notes and relevant information in internal systems in line with NDIS requirements
About you
You are an experienced cafe or hospitality supervisor who knows how to keep service humming, motivate a team and deliver consistently high standards.
You are a hands‐on café professional who leads by example and enjoys supporting others to succeed in a team environment.
You're a hospitality professional who wants to lead with both skill and heart.
You Will Bring:
Experience supervising others within a café setting
Barista experience, with the ability to make great coffee customers will come back for
Ability to operate a cash register and EFTPOS terminal, balance daily takings and manage transactions accurately
Ability to train and support Café Assistants/Baristas in safe work methods, policies and procedures
Ability to ensure all tasks are completed in line with café procedures, including quality and safety standards
Strong communication skills, with the ability to support team morale and day‐to‐day operations
Sound understanding of different dietary needs and requirements
Experience supporting or training people with disability (highly regarded)
Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
