Based at our St Lucia Campus.About This OpportunityJoin the Customer Analytics team within Marketing and Communications and play a pivotal role in advancing the University's machine learning and artificial intelligence capability.
This established role offers the opportunity to step into a mature environment with diverse data assets, strong stakeholder engagement, and a strong pipeline of initiatives delivering measurable business impact.
You will design, develop and maintain production-ready AI solutions that support student engagement, recruitment and service delivery, while helping shape the future of data-driven marketing and student recruitment across the University.Key responsibilities will include:Designing, developing and maintaining machine learning models and AI solutions that support strategic and operational objectives.Building and enhancing production-ready machine learning applications using Python, Spark and modern data science platforms.Collaborating with IT and business stakeholders to develop scalable data pipelines and integrate machine learning solutions into enterprise environments.Translating complex analytical outputs into clear recommendations and insights that drive tangible business outcomes.About YouCompletion of a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline, together with relevant professional experience.Demonstrated experience designing, developing, implementing and maintaining machine learning and AI solutions in production environments.Solid programming skills in Python, R and SQL, with experience building reliable, maintainable and scalable codebases.Experience working with modern data science and machine learning platforms including Databricks, Apache Spark, Jupyter Notebook and Docker.Demonstrated experience developing and optimising data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes and data integration solutions.Experience working with cloud-based data and analytics environments, including Microsoft Azure, AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate complex business challenges into practical technical solutions.Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences and build productive working relationships across diverse teams.About UQAs part of the UQ community, you'll have the opportunity to work alongside the brightest minds, who have joined us from all over the world,
