Burnie City Council is seeking skilled and enthusiastic Technicians to join our casual pool at Burnie Arts.

We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality events that reflect our community's diversity and spirit.About the OpportunityAs part of our casual technician pool, you will be engaged on an as-needed basis to support the delivery of events and productions.
This role offers variety, flexibility and the opportunity to work across a diverse program of performances and functions.You will provide technical support across lighting, audio, audio-visual systems and staging, ensuring events are delivered safely, professionally and to a high standard.Key ResponsibilitiesSet up, operate and pack down lighting, audio, AV and staging equipmentProvide technical support for performances, events and venue hiresTroubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arisePrepare venues to a high standard,



including pre-event briefingsMaintain equipment and ensure backstage areas are safe and organisedDeliver excellent customer service to clients, performers and patronsSupport workplace health and safety and compliance requirementsAbout YouYou are a reliable and adaptable technician who enjoys working in a fast-paced, event-driven environment.
You bring a positive attitude, strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to high-quality service delivery.You will have:Experience in a similar role within an arts, entertainment or cultural venueSkills in sound, lighting and audio-visual systemsStrong communication and customer service skillsThe ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekendsA proactive, team-focused approachDesirable (but not essential)Qualifications in Live Production, Performing Arts or similarDogman/Rigger licence, EWP, First Aid or Test & Tag certificationExperience with theatre rigging and lighting systemsAdditional RequirementsCurrent Driver LicenceAbility to obtain a Working with Vulnerable People Check and National Police CheckWhy Join Our Casual PoolFlexible work to suit your availabilityOpportunities to work across a variety of events and productionsBe part of a creative and supportive team environmentContribute to a thriving cultural hub in the Burnie community
