We are seeking experienced and motivated Mainframe Software Developer to join our Consulting customer.

Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain COBOL-based applications in a z/OS mainframe environment.Write and optimise complex SQL queries for DB2 for z/OS.Integrate COBOL applications with DB2 databases and IBM MQ messaging systems.Manage user access and system security using RACF.Participate in code reviews, debugging, and performance tuning.Collaborate with cross-functional teams including testers, analysts,
and DevOps engineers.Contribute to system documentation and knowledge sharing.Support continuous improvement initiatives and modernisation efforts using Micro Focus tools.
Required Technical Skills
Candidates must have hands-on experience with the following technologies:
Core Mainframe Technologies (Mandatory)
SQL query writing and optimisationData modelling and database designUse of DB2 utilities (e.g., LOAD, UNLOAD, REORG)RACFAccess control and security enforcementIBM MQMessage queue design and integrationQueue/topic managementJCL (Job Control Language)TSO/ISPF
