Company Description Functional Rehabilitation is a mobile allied health service based in the Inner West of Sydney, dedicated to helping people move better, feel stronger, and live more independently through expert exercise physiology.
The team designs and delivers safe, evidence-based exercise programs tailored to a wide range of health conditions and functional goals, from improving strength and balance to restoring mobility after injury or surgery.
Services are provided in locations that suit clients best, including homes, local parks, pools, and community spaces, with all necessary equipment brought to each session.
Functional Rehabilitation works with clients of all ages and abilities, focusing on practical, outcome-driven programs and empowering individuals to move with purpose and confidence.
The service emphasises coordinated care, collaborating closely with GPs, specialists, and other allied health professionals to support holistic rehabilitation and functional improvement.
Role Description
The Exercise Physiologist will deliver evidence-based, functional exercise interventions to clients in home, community, and outdoor settings across Sydney, NSW, with some work from home for session planning and administration in a hybrid arrangement.
Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting comprehensive assessments, developing and implementing individualized exercise prescriptions, and monitoring progress for clients with neurological, musculoskeletal, cardiac, and chronic health conditions.
The role involves running one-on-one sessions and group programs,



documenting clinical notes, communicating with referrers and broader care teams, and contributing to coordinated, multidisciplinary rehabilitation plans.
The Exercise Physiologist will educate clients and caregivers on safe movement strategies, self-management, and long-term functional goals, while maintaining high standards of professionalism, safety, and client-centred care.
This is a contract role requiring flexibility in scheduling and travel within the local area.
Qualifications Strong foundation in human Physiology and accredited Exercise Physiology skills relevant to diverse clinical populations.
Demonstrated capability in Exercise Prescription and Rehabilitation, including functional and goal-directed program design.
Experience or training in Cardiac Rehabilitation and chronic disease management is highly desirable.
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Exercise Physiology, Clinical Exercise Science, or a related discipline, with relevant qualified accreditation (e.g., ESSA or equivalent).
Ability to work independently in community and home environments, with sound clinical judgment and risk management.
Excellent communication and documentation skills, including collaborative work with GPs, specialists, and allied health teams.
Current
First Aid and CPR certification, valid driver's licence, and access to reliable transport for community visits.
Comfort with basic digital tools for scheduling, telehealth, and record-keeping; prior experience in mobile or community-based practice is an advantage.
