The Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Industrial/Commercial Electrician to join their Mount Isa team.
Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager and working alongside a skilled team of electrical tradespeople and apprentices, this hands-on role offers a diverse mix of maintenance, breakdown, and construction work across a range of industrial, mining, commercial and infrastructure sites.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, fault finding, testing and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with relevant Australian Standards, statutory requirements and company procedures.
Exposure to hazardous area installations, industrial automation and electrical infrastructure projects will provide opportunities to further develop technical skills and experience.
Key responsibilities
Perform installation, maintenance, fault-finding,



testing and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment across industrial, mining and commercial sites.
Diagnose and rectify electrical faults safely and efficiently to minimise downtime and maintain operational reliability.
Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance in accordance with Australian Standards, site requirements and company procedures.
Undertake hazardous area electrical installation, inspection and maintenance activities where qualified and authorised.
Read, interpret and update electrical drawings, schematics and technical documentation.
Complete testing, inspection and commissioning activities, ensuring accurate records and reports are maintained.
Plan and manage assigned work activities to meet customer expectations, project milestones and service delivery requirements.
Participate in an on-call roster and respond to breakdowns and emergency works as required.
Maintain a strong commitment to safety, quality and environmental standards at all times.
Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, supervisors and fellow team members.
On Offer
Attractive hourly rate: $60 - $65 per hour + super, dependent on experience and qualifications.
$2,500 sign-on bonus ($1,000 in first week, $1,500 after 6 months).
Fully maintained vehicle.

Required Qualifications
Current Unrestricted Electrical Licence.
Current C class driver's licence.
White Card (construction site card).
LVR & CPR Qualification.
Experience working in the industrial electrical industry, including mining, resources, fuel/gas, processing plants or similar environments.
Basic computer skills in Word, Outlook and electronic reporting systems.
Australian Permanent Residency / full work rights in Australia.
Working at Heights certification.
High-Risk Licence – EWP.
Intermediate computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office.
Experience or qualifications in HVAC, refrigeration or commercial air conditioning systems (highly regarded).
Hazardous Area electrical experience and EEHA qualifications, or a willingness to undertake further training and development in this specialised field.
Leading Hand experience or the desire to step into a future leadership role.
