Owned and Operated by Yancoal Australia, Mount Thorley Warkworth (MTW) is an open cut mine that provides the opportunity to live and work locally. Located 15 kilometres south-west of Singleton in the beautiful Hunter Valley region of Current South Wales, MTW relies on both dragline and load haul systems for their continuous operations.

The MTW Mine is the largest open cut operation in the region, employing approximately 1,450 people who reside in the local and surrounding communities.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

/n

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Water & Tailings Operator to join our CHPP and General Works team. In this role, you will be responsible for the protected and efficient operation of water and tailings management systems, as well as a range of mobile equipment including excavators (3t, 5t,

/n

To be successful in the role you will also display the following skills and attributes:

/n

/n

- Demonstrated experience in tailings and water management

/n





- Completed Dam Safety NSW training in Surveillance of embankment dams-routine inspections

/n

- Knowledge of MTW Dam Safety Awareness, Water Handling Management, and Pit Dewatering

/n

- Experience with water facilities and tailings management systems

/n

- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

/n

- Strong communication skills with the ability to share knowledge effectively

/n

- A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to perform under pressure

/n

- Minimum 3 years' industry experience with relevant qualifications, including:/n

/n

- HR Licence

/n

- Excavator (3t,5t)

/n

- Loader

/n

- High-risk work qualifications

/n

- Basic computer literacy

/n /n/n

Along with strong technical knowledge you will also possess strong work ethic, proven commitment to safety, ability to work in a dynamic team and have a 'can do' approach to work challenges. You must have a commitment to continuous improvement whilst meeting environmental standards.
