Remuneration: Package valued up to $182,461 + incentives (where applicable). Base salary ranges from $101,122 - $160,983. Includes leave loading and employer superannuation contribution. Rural and remote incentives $20,000-30,000 per annum available.

About the Role

/n

Full Time: 1.0 FTE. School psychologists provide counseling and psychological assessment to students, complementing and enhancing work of teachers to strengthen learning and wellbeing outcomes. They support families to manage children's learning and mental health needs.

/n

Will work at Narrandera High School, engaging with primary and high school aged students. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and external agencies, offering qualified supervision and opportunities for professional development.

/n

Key Accountabilities

/n

/n

- Provides counselling and psychological services to students individually and in groups, including short‐term therapeutic interventions appropriate to training and supervision.

/n

- Engages with and implements the procedures of the Professional Practice Framework for the NSW School Counselling Service.

/n

- Consults with principal, staff, and student support services to improve learning and wellbeing outcomes and implement departmental priorities.

/n

- Supports social, emotional, and academic development of students with complex behavioural needs.

/n

- Administers cognitive, social, emotional and behavioural assessments, reports results and collaborates to improve learning, wellbeing and mental health outcomes.

/n

- Works collaboratively with learning and support teams, parents, carers, and other agencies to develop appropriate school‐based support.

/n





- Responds as part of a team to assist schools experiencing serious incidents.

/n

- Refers students and families to other agencies where appropriate.

/n/n

Essential Requirements

/n

/n

- Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy, Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG Inc. and the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Strategy.

/n

- General or Provisional Psychology Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.

/n

- Valid and current Working with Children Check clearance – WWCC, NSW.

/n

- Current and valid driver's licence, ability to travel between work sites.

/n

- Australian citizenship or permanent residency.

/n/n

Benefits and Remuneration

/n

Package valued up to $182,461 + incentives. Base salary ranges from $101,122 - $160,983, with leave loading and superannuation contribution. No automatic progression to $160,983 SPAC salary level; progression available upon completion of Advanced Certification within the NSW School Counselling Service Professional Practice Framework.
