Shellharbour Private Hospital is seeking an experienced Hotel Services Manager to join our team on a full time basis. Based in Shellharbour, NSW, this role is central to delivering exceptional hospitality and support services that enhance the patient experience and contribute to the smooth operation of our private healthcare facility.
As Hotel Services Manager, you will oversee all non-clinical support services, ensuring our hospital environment meets the highest standards of cleanliness, comfort, and safety for patients, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead in-house housekeeping and environmental services, including rostering, recruitment, onboarding, training and performance management
- Ensure hospital-grade cleaning standards aligned to infection prevention and control requirements with the Infection Control Cooridinator.
- Maintain and drive quality monitoring through cleaning audits, inspections and corrective actions
- Manage the Hotel Services cost centre, including labour and consumables within budget and identifying efficiencies and value for money
- Act as the key relationship manager for contracted services (e.g. catering, linen, waste and other nominated contractors), ensuring service standards, compliance and performance reporting
- Support food services team as a head chef to ensure quality and presentation of hospital grade food.
About You
- Ability to work as Head Chef and support the overall kitchen function
- Minimum 5 years' experience in hotel services management, preferably within a healthcare setting such as a private hospital or aged care facility
- Strong knowledge of healthcare-specific cleaning protocols, infection control procedures, and environmental health and safety standards
- You have demonstrated experience leading housekeeping or environmental services teams (rostering, recruitment, training and performance)
- You have experience supporting accreditation/compliance through audit programs and continuous improvement
- Relevant qualifications such as a Certificate IV in Hospitality Management or equivalent experience would be advantageous
- Legal right to work in Australia
- National Police Check (within the last 6 months or willingness to obtain)
- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Experience in acute healthcare / aged care environments
- Experience in hospital-grade cleaning / infection prevention frameworks
- Knowledge of food safety systems and auditing (e.g. HACCP) for catering contract oversight
- Previous hospital/healthcare environment experience
